  1. TAB-Key to Toggle Through Elements and not get the following error "Ambiguous Selection Identification of the intended item is not possible

    I believe that when let's say you are drawing a 1D-Element and you selected the starting node, then you did a right-click somewhere in the space and selected Snap-Perpendicular, however, when you try to select that element that you would like to snap to you receive an error message which says "Ambiguous Selection Identification of the intended item is not possible in this situation" because let's say there is a 2D-Element as well which is making it impossible for GSA to know which element you are trying to snap to and thus you receive an error.   3. Set contour values by quantile

    I would love an additional option under "Contour Values -> Automatic contour values" called "Contours based on quantiles".

    So for instance, if the engineer specifies 9 contours, GSA would calculate the 9-quantiles of the data being contoured and set them as the contour values.

    The benefits of this are:
    * each colour/contour will have an approximately equal number of elements
    * a few elements with extreme values will not obscure the variation among the majority of results
    * an insightful set of contours is generated without any clipping at the upper or lower bound of the data range

  4. Variable Load for Load Panel

    Currently, the load panel only works if a constant pressure is applied to it. The dialog for creating a face pressure on a load panel allows the user to input a variable pressure (different at each node) but when the analysis is run, the user will get an error saying that a load panel must have a constant load applied to it.
    This could be useful in many situations but the particular situation I was using the load panels for was roof snow drift load.

  6. Arrow showing element/member's x axis direction when graphically selected

    Often you don’t want ‘label element x axis’ turned on for everything in the model as it can make it cluttered.

    However it would be neat to have the option to just show the element x axis for the element/member selected – replacing the dot in the middle with an arrow perhaps. This would make graphically modifying member end restraints etc. much easier.

  7. GSA enable a node of an element to be moved along the element x axis to either lengthen or shorten element

    Instead of having to create a new user axis as is currently necessary.

  9. Combining results from staged analysis

    I am trying to combine results from 2 separate analysis stages within the same GSA model.

    Step 1 - Analyze stage 1 and only retain nodal forces for pre-selected nodes.

    Step 2 - Analyze stage 2 including the nodal forces from stage 1.

    Analysis task/Analysis wizard/Advanced solver settings allow the user to select certain results to be saved for a particular staged analysis. However the selection is global, either all nodes or all elements. It also doesn't allow the use to determine what results to be saved, ie nodal force in the global z direction.

  10. Auto fit print preview

    Sometimes, positioning a model view for printing can be a bit of an iterative procedure, repositioning the model so that it fits on screen and print preview and repeat.

    Could there be a "print visible option" so that results don't end up behind contour keys/off the edge of the page etc.

    Could there be an automatic position for print function?

  12. output assembly results for selected assemblies

    While requesting assembly output GSA displays results of all assemblies. In case of large models, this takes very long time. Looking for an option to view the output of selected assemblies to expedite the process.

    Though we can select an assembly in 'Element List', GSA would output results of all assemblies.

  13. Accounting for Skrinkage and Creep for all concrete elements in GSA

    As suggested by Steve McKechnie, it will be worth investing whether it will be possible to apply the creep and shrinkage into GSA as an initial strain load to each element: calculate it for each element and apply it for each element in each stage?

  15. Lists of lists

    My current model has lots and lots of lists, and it would be great if I could organise them better. I see lists as the equivalent of layers, and in modern drawings pages it is very common to have sub-layers, it would be great to have this functionality in GSA.

  20. 1/3rd octave footfall output

    Output response in 1/3rd octave bands for unweighted RMS acceleration and velocity for comparison against VC criteria.

    This is different to the current output than does an SRSS of all modes across all frequencies. It is also different to the response vs. walking/forcing frequency plots as it is response frequency that is important.

    The current output can be overly conservative due to the SRSS summation.

    Applications inlcude low vibration environments such as laboratories and fabrication facilities.
