How is this going? I recently had an analysis problem that would have be greatly simplified by allowing some cracking and redistribution of forces. In practice turning overstressed elements to 'dummy' unrealistically moved the problem. Using IdeaStatic for connection design also shows another way this could be used (this being material non linearity in shells)
Are there not two different things at play here:
1. Material non-linearity elements (fibre elements?) for beams and shells. This could be applied to general problems including steel.
2. Automatic assessment of cracked slab stiffness for concrete, which requires the Adsec integration on top of elements which do material non-linearity.'Just' getting (1) would be a MASSIVE benefit. Can that be done sooner?

Nick, the 'GSA RC slab design interface' BIG idea covers reinforcement zones. This one is more to do with an iterative analysis procedure in which the section stiffness is modified as cracks develop in the slab.
We have other ideas on extracting analysis models from the 'whole' model, - not yet expressed on the UserVoice. Maybe the idea of isolating the floor slab could be woven into that.

I am guessing we would want to be specify reinforcement zones of the floor, e.g. column and middle strips with different reinforcement? Based on the current management of floor meshes that would require a bit of an overhaul and move GSA towards RAM Concept type approach? My understanding is that RAM Concept models floor slabs in detail, in isolation from the global structure. Could this become a model type (like "Plane Stress" or "Plane Strain")?
