Geotechnical feedback

Please leave feedback and development suggestions for the Oasys Geo programs or vote on existing items – thanks for your input!

Note that the Knowledge Base includes summarized development plans.

How can we improve Oasys geotechnical software?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. Specify soil nail bond strength for each strata

The ability to specify a single bond strength between a soil nail and the surrounding soil (using CIRIA guidance or preliminary test data) does not work if the soil is layered. The user should be able to specify the bond strength for each strata.

  3. Provide ground movement calculation for re-entrant corners.

    Two current ideas:

    1. a simple proportioning of the contributions to a point's displacements based on how many sides contribute, if 2, then each 50%, if 3, then each 30% etc. But may also need consideration for the angle. Simple geometrical solution (with warning) if nothing better received.

    2. a geometric solution which could be coded and compared to finite element analysis.

Same ideas can apply to changes in ground movement curve between one wall and another.
