Include pile pinning in Slope
We would like to be able to model piles in Slope, with specified mobilised shear resistance across the failure surface. This would ideally (in future) be linked to a mobilised shear-displacement profile for each pile derived from Alp. The mobilised shear can be specified apriori for the pile or pile group, or determined from Newmark Sliding Block analysis with the shear-displacement curve. Get in touch for details.

Imported Grids - Interpolation of Results
Provide interpolation of imported displacements for the case where the imported displacement points do not coincide with the points already in the data file.

Tunnel Volume
Ignore displacement points within tunnels (just as within excacations)

Add ability to select / specify casing diameter in PILE
When constructing a pile with temporary casing, the pile diameter through the cohesionless (cased) soils is much greater, resulting in an increased shaft area and thus capacity.
Currently Pile can only specify one (the minimum) pile diameter.

add polygonal soil zones into pdisp
The input for soil zones in pdisp are currently only rectangular, while as it is mostly always polygonal in plan in actual condition. By having this function, settlement can be calculated more accurately, but more importantly, the soil zone lines in Pdisp can be imported from CAD which allows for easier and quicker input.

Enable SLS check as part of Eurocode (ULS) calculations
It would be very useful to enable a check that the characteristic pile shaft resistance is greater than the characteristic pile action.
i.e. a factor of >1 on the shaft capacity alone

Pile to be able to handle c-phi soils
Pile currently treats soils in two broad catergories: drained and undrained, the drained soils have only an angle of friction and the undrained only the undrained cohesion. It would be nice if c-phi soils (e.g sandy clays, clayey sands) can also be considered.

Advanced grid specification
Specify displacement grid by centreline start and end points, width of grid and frequency of transects (then allow results to be displayed for grid lines in both directions?)

Direct output of equivalent subgrade reaction stiffnesses
Pdisp is often used to derive subgrade reaction stiffnesses for input into GSA by manually dividing the applied pressure by the settlement results to calculate the equivalent subgrade reaction springs. The conversion could be built into PDsip itself and a subgrade reaction contour could be plotted. There’s a possible automation linkage with GSA.
