COM interface or similar
This would allow interaction with specific program functions from within a spreadsheet, for example. So a user could set up text data and analyse it, or amend data and carry out bulk analysis to check sensitivity to certain parameters, or extract results for post processing.

Available in Alp, Frew and Siren. Coming soon in Pile and Slope.

I would suggest ALP and PDISP. ALP because we often use it to derive equivalent beam parameters that get used in GSA and this usually requires iteration. With a COM interface the iteration could be automated. I would also suggest PDISP so tools can be developed in excel for inputting complex soil profiles/zones/loaded areas and extracting data back into excel for plotting (e.g. combining results from drained and undrained analyses).

This addition specifically for Frew was requested by Hong Kong office some time ago. But once the principles are done in one program, it should be quicker to port across to others. Did you have a particular program in mind? We have a test version of Alp which has a similar feature.

This is a great idea, it will hopefully allow more streamlined iteration between GSA and Geo programms, however is FREW The best programme to start with? What is the logic for starting with FREW?
